1. About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Larry Osamudawem Idahosa, trading as Starry Labs, in the United Kingdom ("we", "us"), for your use of the Study with Bao app ("Bao"). By creating an account you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Bao.

2. Who can use Bao

You must be 13 or older. If you're under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission, and they should read these terms with you. You're responsible for your account and for everything done with it.

3. Community rules

Bao has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. You must not post, share or send (in usernames, group names, battle titles, shared notes or anything else):

• bullying, harassment, threats or hate towards anyone, including because of their race, ethnicity, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age
• sexual, violent, graphic or otherwise offensive content
• other people's personal information, or anything you don't have the right to share
• spam, scams, advertising, or anything illegal
• impersonation of another person, of Bao, or of Starry Labs

You also must not cheat or abuse the app, such as making extra accounts to get more free AI notes, tampering with the app or its servers, or trying to access other people's data.

You can report content or a person, and block anyone, with the ··· button. We review reports within 24 hours. If something breaks these rules, we'll remove it and may suspend or permanently ban the account responsible, without notice.

4. Your content

Your notes, photos and other content stay yours. You give us permission to store, process and display them as needed to run Bao: for example, to sync them to your phones, show them to the friends and groups you share them with, and send them to our AI provider to make flashcards and quizzes. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies others already saved and reports we need to keep. Only share content you have the right to share.

5. AI features

AI notes and quizzes are made automatically and can contain mistakes. They're a study aid, not a replacement for your teachers, textbooks or own notes, so check anything important. We don't guarantee any exam results.

6. Bamboo

Bamboo 🎋 is a virtual item you earn in Bao by studying (and a little from optional ads). It can't be bought, sold, transferred or exchanged for money, and has no cash value. We may change how bamboo is earned or used, and bamboo is lost if your account is deleted or banned.

7. Subscriptions

Bao is free to use. Pro and Premium are optional auto-renewing subscriptions, monthly or yearly, that add features such as more AI notes and quizzes. The price and what's included are shown in the app before you buy.

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase.
• Your subscription renews automatically at the same price for the same period unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep your plan until the end of the period you've paid for.
• Deleting your account doesn't cancel your subscription. Cancel it with Apple too.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies, at reportaproblem.apple.com.
• If we change a subscription's price, Apple will tell you in advance and, where required, ask you to agree.

8. Ads

Free users can choose to watch optional rewarded ads, provided by Google. Ads only play when you choose to watch one.

9. Changes and ending

We're always improving Bao, so features may change, and we may stop offering some of them. You can stop using Bao and delete your account at any time in Profile → Delete account. We may suspend or end your account if you break these terms. If we ever shut Bao down, we'll give reasonable notice where we can.

10. Our responsibility to you

We provide Bao "as is" and can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. To the extent the law allows, we're not responsible for losses that weren't foreseeable, for loss of data you could have backed up, or for content posted by other users. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, and nothing affects your legal rights as a consumer.

11. Apple

These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for Bao or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it, and isn't responsible for any claims relating to it (including product liability, legal compliance or intellectual property claims). If Bao fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any); Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them. Apple's Standard End User License Agreement also applies, except where these terms say otherwise. You confirm you're not in a country under a US government embargo and aren't on a US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

12. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we'll update the date above and tell you in the app if the change is significant. If you keep using Bao after that, the new terms apply.

13. Law and contact

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you can also bring a claim in your local courts and keep the protections of your local consumer law. Questions or complaints: starrylabs4@gmail.com.
